Eliza jumped out of bed. “Today I find the dragon.”
Eliza climbed and climbed the hillside. Finally, she found the lair.
“Dragon,” Eliza called inside, “You must take me flying.”
“I will gobble you up,” the dragon called out of the cave.
“I’m much too small to eat,” said Eliza.
“I will smite you with my flames.”
“I’m much too fast for you to hit,” said Eliza.
The dragon paused. “I am too tired.”
“I’m light and easy to carry.”
The dragon crawled into the sunshine. “I have no wings.”
“Use mine,” Eliza said.
Eliza and the dragon spent the afternoon flying.
